Remote Interview Tips

Here are some tips to help you prepare for a remote interview:

Test Your Technology Beforehand:

Ensure your webcam, microphone, and internet connection are working properly.

Familiarise yourself with the platform you’ll be using (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

Prepare in Advance:

Research the company and the role you’re interviewing for in detail .....you can never be over prepared !

Review your CV and be ready to discuss your experiences, have it to hand as you may need to refer to it.

Limit Distractions:

Choose a quiet, well-lit space for the interview.

Silence notifications on your devices.

Formulate Questions to Ask the Interviewer:

Prepare thoughtful questions about the company, team, or role.

Show your interest and engagement, this is very important

Practice Professional Body Language:

Sit up straight and maintain good posture.

Dress appropriately as you would for an in-person interview. You can never be too smart !

Give Eye Contact:

Look directly at the camera to simulate eye contact.

It conveys confidence and attentiveness.

Be Authentic:

Be yourself and let your personality shine through.

Authenticity matters in virtual interactions.

Follow Up:

Send a thank-you email after the interview.

Express your appreciation and reiterate your interest.
