Working hours: Monday to Friday and weekend shifts as allocated, 37.5 hrs per week

Job Summary:
- To ensure the accurate and timely production of all sterile and non-sterile products, making sure workload is prioritised appropriately and the various duties of the Technical Services staff are co-ordinated effectively.
- To enhance the efficiency of the Technical Services unit by obtaining and maintaining accreditations for all in-process checks and the final checking of over labelled batches of medicines.
- Deliver effective operational running of Technical Services ensuring that workload is prioritised appropriately
- Supervise and participate in all production processes in the unit including;
- Preparation of non-sterile products
- Aseptic dispensing of cytotoxics, IV additives, clinical trial drugs, TPN and any other drugs as required
- Assembly of over labelled products, emergency trays and boxes, cytotoxic spillage kits and extravasation kits as required
- Undertake in-process checks for all production processes following satisfactory completion of accreditation
- Undertake the final production check of over labelled batches following satisfactory completion of accreditation.
- Assist the Lead technician in monitoring workload against the standards set in the capacity plan by maintaining records and preparing regular reports.
- Ensure adequate consumable and raw material supplies in the unit and correct stock rotation to enable an efficient production service
- Liaise with Buying Office staff regarding stock control of items used for pre-packing and over labelling
- Follow all standard operating procedures for Technical Services and ensure they are followed by all staff in order to deliver a safe and efficient service
- Assist in the production, maintenance and revision of all standard operating
procedures, worksheets, formulae and stabilities for the technical services
unit
Essential Candidate Criteria:
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
- Experience working on wards and medicine reconciliation
- Qualified Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
- Right to work in the UK
