Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of high-quality, patient-centred mental health care who are looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist Adult for one of their sites in Roehampton.

Salary: 
£96,000 (£170,000 pro rata)
Hours: 
22.5 hours (3 days)
Contract: Permanent - Part Time

The role:

The main purpose of this role is to provide high quality care for patients referred to the hospital and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model.

This is an employed post to take consultant responsibility for general psychiatry and addiction patients coming to the hospital from referrals from the NHS and private (self-funding and Private Medical Insurance (PMI).

Experience:
 

Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:

  • Performing comprehensive assessments and developing treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Leading ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and care reviews.
  • Overseeing clinical management of complex cases, particularly those involving risk or challenging behaviour.
  • Supporting patients and families through treatment decisions, relapse prevention, and recovery pathways.
  • Providing mentorship, supervision, and support to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Driving quality improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with CQC regulations and national standards.
  • Collaborating with site leadership to ensure efficient service delivery and patient satisfaction.


Successful candidate qualities:

  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • AC approved and S12 approved MHA 1983
  • Previous experience as an NHS consultant
  • Acute inpatient and outpatient experience
  • CCT in General adult psychiatry
  • Experience in working with multi-disciplinary team and being a clinical leader
  • Experience of supervising junior medical staff
  • Experience of working with management team
  • Experience of service change and improvement
  • Experience of involvement in clinical governance and improvement
