Blackstone Recruitment are working with a SEN Secondary school in Cambridgeshire, who are looking for a part time English Teacher for 2 days a week.
Job Details:
Day Rate: £150 to £220 per day
Working hours: 16 hours / 2 days per week
Contract Type: Temporary
Contract Length: Summer Term
Job Summary:
- Working with students who are aged 11-16 year olds with a range of complex learning needs including social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication difficulties and autism.
- To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
- Be responsible for the high quality of teaching and learning of all students who are assigned to the post holder, having responsibility for their literacy skills, progress, welfare and outcomes.
- Supervise the work of any support staff, who are assigned to work with the post holder’s students.
- To have an up to date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers and the statutory framework within which teachers work.
- To implement the aims of the school.
Essential Criteria:
- PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification in English and evidence of in-service training is essential.
- Role would suit primary as well as secondary trained teachers
- Postgraduate diploma in SEN is desirable.
- Experience of working in a special school environment and in particular with students with SEMH is desirable.
- Experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a wide range of needs from non-readers to students aiming for GCSE English is desirable.
