Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for Housekeeping Assistant for one of their schools in Dorset.

Location: Dorset
Salary: £11.72 - £11.93 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week.
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract
The role:
They are looking to recruit for a housekeeping Assistant. Your duties will include vacuum cleaning, wiping furniture, mopping hard surfaces and other general cleaning duties.
Experience:
Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:
- Vacuum cleaning floors
- Spot cleaning of spillages
- Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass
- Emptying and cleaning bins (daily)
- Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds
- Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces
- Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing banister rails spindles and wood surrounds.
- Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily)
- Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit
- Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time
- All defects/hazards must be immediately reported
- Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
Skills & Qualifications:
Successful candidate qualities:
- Experience of using equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others
- Key aspects of Health and Safety legislation for cleaning
- Experience of cleaning a variety of surfaces.
- The role will require some lone working; travel; physical work and the ability to drive
