Job Summary:
- To lead and develop a high quality, comprehensive pharmacy service to oncology and haematology patients.
- To ensure Medicines Management Standards are met within Oncology and Haematology Services.
- To provide clinical support to the pharmacy aseptic preparation unit.
- To regularly undertake audit projects and research and development with respect to national and local guidelines of practice.
- To be actively involved in the clinical governance aspects of the pharmaceutical service.
- To actively provide a personal, specialist, clinical pharmacy service to dedicated wards or units with the inclusion of multidisciplinary working with medical, nursing and support staff.
- To be an independent prescriber and to prescribe as appropriate for oncology and haematology patients within your area of competence.
- To give guidance to medical, nursing and other healthcare professionals on the cost effective use of medication.
Essential Candidate Criteria:
- Registered pharmacist with GPhC
- Master’s Degree (4 Years) plus 1 year pre-registration training
- Previous hospital experience inclusive of clinical pharmacy practice
- Must have experience and evidence of delivering a critical care pharmacy service.
- Right to work in the UK
