Blackstone Recruitment is seeking a Occupational Therapist to join SEN school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 7 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties.
The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team, which may suit someone experienced in a special needs environment or newly qualified, who will be required to work closely with other therapists and other professionals providing support to students; reporting to the Therapy Manager.
Role Details:
- Location: Southwest Surrey / southwest of central London
- Employment type: Full time
- Hours Per Week: 42.5 x 40 weeks, Term Time Only
- Salary: £28,000 pro rata amount
Key Duties:
- The successful candidate will have their own clinical caseload and will be offered professional supervision.
- Ongoing CDP activities can be completed in line with the relevant guidelines.
- Line management will be provided within the school.
Essential Candidate Criteria:
- B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy or profession-specific equivalent qualification
- Registration required
- Resilience: Ability to support children with emotional, behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD, and related challenges.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and understanding the needs of young people.
- Commitment: Dedicated to delivering high-quality care as part of a supportive team.
- Caring: Naturally compassionate and empathetic towards vulnerable children.
- All applicants must undergo safeguarding screening, including Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks, and provide at least two references covering the last three years.
- References should be from previous roles involving work with children or vulnerable adults.
