Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £27,144 - £28,392 per annum dependent on qualifications
Hours: 40 hours per week.
The role:
They are looking to recruit for a Senior Support Worker. Your role will be to provide support to the Team Leaders and Care Managers in managing, motivating and coaching a team of support workers to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first.
Experience:
Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:
- You’ll provide appropriate physical and emotional support to the young people through the work of the care team within a residential environment and with off-site activities.
- As the shift leader you’ll be expected to support the induction of new team members and their continued mentoring and development towards QCF and other mandatory training.
- You’ll also be expected to take an active role in ensuring that activities are completed, and effectively delegated and day-to-day implementation of young people’s individual program plans are carried out efficiently with adequate cover available at all times.
- This is very much a hands-on role where you will work directly with our young people and will provide appropriate personal care and emotional support to those using our services.
Skills & Qualifications:
Successful candidate qualities:
- Level 3 Health & Social Care
- Experience and knowledge of working with young adults with complex needs and additional behaviours
- Superb communication skills and patience
- Highly organised
- Resilient with a robust and positive nature
- Ability to work on a rota pattern- please note that this will typically mean working every other weekend
