Job Summary
- The post holder is required to validate parenteral and oral SACT. This will require communication with medical, nursing and pharmacy staff. They will be expected to raise queries directly with the medical staff and act accordingly. Oral chemotherapy will need to be directed to the main dispensary after validation. The post holder is also required to have a working knowledge of support medicines used alongside SACT.
- Ideally the post holder would work on site, but remote working would be considered after an initial induction period. If working on site, the post holder would also be expected to undertake the final release of SACT products prepared on site after undertaking the required competencies
Person Specification
- Must be a pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Must have general hospital pharmacy experience as well as good knowledge and recent experience in Oncology Pharmacy.
- Must hold the BOPA SACT validation passport.
- They will need to have experience of both oncology and malignant haematology to cover the functions of this busy unit that operates as a satellite from the main pharmacy department
- Must have recently used the Aria Chemotherapy prescribing system, Pathfinder (Lenalidomide) and BMS ePAF system. Knowledge of Wellsky (JAC) is advantageous.
